COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week 1 of the high school football season is officially in the books. While conference play in the Central Buckeye League is still nearly a month away, several teams took the field Friday night for non-league matchups.
Bexley, Bishop Ready, Buckeye Valley, Columbus Academy, and Whitehall-Yearling all opened their 2025 campaigns, while Franklin Heights made its debut as a full CBL member after completing scheduling obligations in the Ohio Capital Conference last fall.
As a reminder, both Grandview Heights and Worthington Christian compete as independents in football.
