COLUMBUS, Ohio – Following an exceptional campaign, Columbus Academy senior Matthew Fang has been named the 2023 Central Buckeye League Player of the Year. He shot a 73-78-78-77 for a scoring average of 76 which is best among league competitors. Fang also takes home first team honors for his efforts this season.
Ben Hodge and Zach Topolosky of Bexley also join the first team as the junior’s finish tied with a scoring average of 76.3 for the season. Buckeye Valley sophomore Sam Reynolds joins the fray with a 77 and Academy sophomore Jack Woods rounds out the first team with 78.3 scoring average.
Buckeye Valley sophomore Matthew Ralph leads the second team alongside Worthington Christian junior Jeremiah Mulpas with a 79.3 season average. Hot on their tails is Ralph’s fellow teammate Peyton Chandler and Columbus Academy’s Rowen Lo who concluded the campaign with a 79.6 average score. Mulpas is joined on the second team by fellow Warrior Grant Carter who finished the year shooting an 80.
The third team is led by a pair of Vikings from Columbus Academy. Juniors Alex Stein and Ethan Baker lead the third team with an 80.3 and 80.6 respectively. Jaxson Streid of Buckeye Valley and Everette Burns of Worthington Christian finished tied with an 81.3 and Academy’s Gavin Munster collects an 82.3 average to complete his junior season.
