COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Central Buckeye League is now accepting applications for new member schools. The application window is open immediately and will run through February 28, 2026. Schools admitted during this cycle will begin CBL membership in the 2027-28 or 2028–29 school years.
The Central Buckeye League (CBL) and its member schools would like to share that the league is currently exploring opportunities for strategic expansion. As part of this process, the CBL is identifying schools that align with our goals of competitive balance, geographic fit, student-athlete experience, and long-term stability.
Prospective schools should prepare to engage in an initial conversation regarding:
- Your school’s athletic vision and long-term alignment
- Competitive placement within the league’s structure and divisions
- Scheduling, travel considerations, and facility compatibility
- Enrollment projections and program participation
- The CBL’s expectations, values, and governance
The Central Buckeye League is currently in its third season of operation, having rebooted from the original league in 1991, and consists of both public and private schools from across Central Ohio.
Interested parties should complete the application linked here and email commissioner T.C. Couhig at cblcommissioner22@gmail.com
