GAHANNA, Ohio – The Central Buckeye League and its member institutions are proud to recognize Makayla Lemon of Franklin Heights as the league’s Senior Female Scholar-Athlete for the 2024–2025 school year.
Lemon is a dedicated three-sport athlete, competing in basketball, softball, and cheerleading. She maintains an impressive 3.70 GPA while managing a demanding schedule that includes a 20 to 25-hour work week. Her leadership and work ethic have not gone unnoticed by the Franklin Heights administration.
“Makayla earned three varsity letters in four seasons with the Falcons, excelling as a leader on and off the court,” said Falcons Girls Basketball Head Coach Matthew McClosky. “Balancing academics, athletics, and work, she truly embodies what it means to be a Scholar-Athlete.”
Beyond athletics, Lemon is actively involved in the school community. She participates in FCCLA, Link Leaders, In the Know, and Student Council.
“Makayla has successfully navigated four years of rigorous academics, sports, family responsibilities, and community involvement,” said Principal Tim Donahue. “I have no doubt she will continue to thrive in all she does.”
Lemon plans to attend Columbus State Community College, where she will study Early Childhood Education.
