GAHANNA, Ohio – The Central Buckeye League and its member institutions are proud to recognize Joey Gurwin of Columbus Academy as the league’s Senior Male Scholar-Athlete for the 2024–2025 school year.
Gurwin recently graduated from Columbus Academy with an impressive 4.5 GPA and was a key contributor on both the baseball and football teams. This fall, he will attend Johns Hopkins University, where he plans to pursue studies in Engineering and Pre-Medicine.
A well-rounded student-athlete, Joey excelled both academically and athletically, earning numerous accolades throughout his high school career. He served on student council all four years, including two years as class president.
Recognized as one of the most outstanding students to walk the halls of Columbus Academy, Gurwin has earned the admiration of school leadership and coaches alike.
“He represents the ideal balance of academic excellence, athletic achievement, and positive contributions to his school and community,” said head coach Todd Dunkle.
